Today Google announced a new Peer to Peer proxy service called uProxy at its Ideas Summit in New York. The project created by the University of Washington and Brave New Software interfaces with plugins for Firefox and Chrome and allows users to host personal web proxies with friends.
This exciting new proxy service allows users from countries that prohibit some traffic a way around those firewalls. And more importantly it also allows employees a simple way around those pesky internal work firewalls for sites like Facebook and Google+.
You can’t sign up just yet as the project is in a restricted beta phase but if you want to get on the waiting list you can apply at uProxy.org. Check out the Phoenix SEO firms for a full description of the new proxy service.
